Lazer Launches Maze and Maze JR KinetiCore during European Mobility Week.

Two new eco-conscious urban bike helmets for adults and kids, inspired by low-profile skate helmets.

European mobility week, starting today, is all about raising awareness on sustainable urban mobility. Helmet brand Lazer wants to do their part by raising awareness on the importance of safe urban mobility. With the tagline "Use Your Head" and attention-grabbing visuals they hope to encourage people to wear a helmet.

The helmets used in the campaign launch are the two new eco-conscious urban bike helmets, Maze and Maze Jr KinetiCore. Taking inspiration from the traditional low-profile skate helmets. Now combining modern tech and safety features to give a safe and trendy urban helmet, perfect for rides in the hustle and bustle of the city.

The two helmets follow the same design but offer different sizing and colors. Other things they have in common are their sustainable design aspects. They both consist of interlocking components by use of the patented Lazer EcoLoc eliminating the need for glue. Their zero-glue construction enables the user to easily disassemble the helmet at the end of their lifecycle and sort the different materials correctly at home.

Maze KinetiCore and Maze JR KinetiCore are ASTM certified. This standard features a lower test line on the sides and back of the helmet than most other helmet standards. Subtle recesses in the helmet design make room for the legs of your (sun-)glasses.

Maze KinetiCore

Maze KinetiCore is available in two sizes, S-M (50-56cm) and M-L (54-61cm) and comes in toned-down pastel colors. The colors are achieved by injecting color directly into the helmet shell. Making this process eco-friendlier than adding paint and making the colors more durable when scratching should happen. Logos on both helmets are ingrained, eliminating the need for added stickers.

Maze JR KinetiCore comes in one size, S-M (50 – 56cm), and is available in 5 bright colors especially made for kids and pre-teens ranging from 8 ‘til 15 years old. Like the Maze KinetiCore, the bright colors are achieved by injecting color into the helmet shell. An included sticker sheet allows the user to personalize the helmet the way they like it.

Lazer KinetiCore technology

Reimagining modern helmet design with over ten years of research and development, Lazer’s KinetiCore technology features built-in rotational-impact protection thanks to unique Controlled Crumple Zones incorporated into the internal structure of the helmet. The result of this integrated design is advanced multi-directional protection that allows riders to ride with confidence. KinetiCore also uses less overall material for improved ventilation, a lighter-weight helmet design, and fewer plastics used in construction.

Both helmets received a 4-star Virginia Tech rating. What does this mean?

All helmets sold must be certified to meet minimum safety requirements. However, not all helmets are created equal and two helmets that meet the official standard for certification may offer different levels of impact protection. The Virginia Tech Helmet Lab is 100% independent of any funding or influence from helmet manufacturers and provides unbiased ratings on a 5-star scale that allows consumers to make informed decisions when purchasing. Simply stated, the ratings identify which helmets best reduce concussion risk. More stars equate to better protection, with 5 stars representing the best available helmets.
