Comfort and Performance with the PRO Stealth Offroad Performance Saddle

More than an evolution of one of PRO’s most popular saddles, the second-generation PRO Stealth Offroad Performance Saddle was redeveloped from the rails up to maximize the learnings from the first generation offroad saddle.

It seeks to meet the same need of race focused mountain- and gravel-bike riders to hold an aggressive, aerodynamic position on the saddle – just as the PRO Stealth Road saddles do – while also providing for the unique challenges of offroad racing.

At first glance the updated aesthetics bring the new saddle in line with the rest of the PRO Offroad range, but the technical improvements run far deeper.

“The PRO Stealth Offroad Performance Saddle project has been an exciting one from its inception,” Niek Verbakel, Marketing Manager, PRO, said. “The product development team were able to build on years of data from bike fitters and feedback from riders to redevelop the existing saddle into an even more capable product. While the looks of the new PRO Stealth Offroad Performance are eye catching, the real advancements are hidden under the ergonomically wrapped PU cover.”

Set upon durable INOX stainless-steel rails the PRO Stealth Offroad Saddle features a carbon reinforced base with a broad anatomic fit recess. Like PRO’s Enduro and E-Mountain Bike Saddles, it features a drainage port in the recess, rather than a complete cut-out, a feature which sets the PRO Offroad saddles apart from their rivals. The stiff base is covered by lightweight and EVA padding, which has varying thicknesses across the saddle to meet the needs of race-focused mountain- and gravel-bikers.

The padding is covered by an ergonomically wrapped, durable PU cover which is designed to be less likely to snag on baggies, while also reducing chafe and protecting the saddle in the inevitable case of a crash.

“The second-generation PRO Stealth Offroad Performance Saddle has a stiffer bridge and a raised rear end, compared to the first iteration,” PRO Product Development Manager, Mark Kikkert explained. “This creates a firmer base for more efficient power delivery during seated efforts, while the raised rear enlarges the contact area of the saddle to better distribute pressure, which in turn reduces discomfort. It also has a raised side profile, providing a surface for riders to push the inside of their thighs against during cornering.”
