PRO Vibe Aero gives cyclists the benefits of an integrated cockpit without the potential bike fit drawbacks
The new PRO Vibe Aero Carbon Handlebar and PRO Vibe Aero Stem combine aerodynamics with optimization to provide a customizable cockpit that meets all the needs of the competitive road cyclist. By combining an aerodynamic handlebar and stem this PRO cockpit gives cyclists the benefits of an integrated cockpit without the potential bike fit drawbacks.
Drawing upon PRO’s Dutch engineering design philosophy and manufactured to the exacting standards, developed by PRO’s Japanese heritage, the PRO Vibe Aero Carbon Handlebar and PRO Vibe Aero Stem will aid riders in their pursuit of speed and enjoyment on their road bikes.
Featuring a T700 and T800 UD Carbon construction the new handlebars have aerodynamically optimized tops, which also boast an anti-slip coating, and a 10-degree forward sweep to enable riders to tuck themselves in even further and reduce their frontal area. This narrow rider profile is also enhanced by the handlebar’s narrow width and the inward sweep of the STI clamping area.
The 37-centimeter-wide version has a 126 millimeter drop and 77-millimeter reach, and weighs 240 grams.
While the aerodynamic benefits of the PRO Vibe Aero Carbon Handlebars serve as the primary attraction, it is their customization that sets them apart. Available in three widths, from 37 to 41 centimeters, the real benefit of the handlebars is their compatibility with standard 31.8-millimeter clamping diameter stems. Designed to be used with the new PRO Vibe Aero Stem, available in six lengths, each stem has a negative 17-degree angle option. This combination allows for a precise and comfortable bike fit.
PRO’s Marketing Manager, Niek Verbakel said: “We are very excited to launch the PRO Vibe Aero Carbon Handlebar and PRO Vibe Aero Stem. From our in-house testing and the PRO Community Riders’ feedback, we are confident that we have produced a cockpit that will save you watts and allow you to get into a comfortable aerodynamic position on the bike.”
The functionality of the PRO Vibe Aero Carbon Handlebar is designed for a variety of cable routing styles: when partnered with electronic shifters the hydraulic brake hoses and electronic wires can be neatly hidden inside the handlebar, routed into the PRO Vibe Aero Stem and into the headset of compatible bike frames.
The handlebar also features dedicated placement points for Shimano Satellite Shifters to allow for seamless shifting from the tops.

About Shimano
Shimano’s origins began in 1921 when Shimano Iron Works, the predecessor of Shimano Inc., was established by Shozaburo Shimano in Sakai city, Osaka, Japan. The first product was the bicycle freewheel, which, at that time, required the highest level of bicycle technology to produce.
By the 1950s the company was producing products such as external speed changers and internal speed changers (3-speed hub). The success of these products led to Shimano’s first overseas sales office, Shimano American Corporation (currently Shimano North America Holding, Inc.) in 1965, followed by Shimano Europe in 1973. The first overseas manufacturing base, Shimano Singapore Pte. Ltd., also opened in the same year.
In 1991, the company name became Shimano Inc. Its headquarters remain in Sakai, the city of Shimano’s birthplace.
