Lightweight full-frame and half-frame designs that boost protection while amplifying colors and clarity on the trail, road, gravel, or commute
Shimano adds three new and updated eyewear models to its lineup of performance eyewear for all types of riders and riding conditions. Featuring RIDESCAPE lens technology that emphasizes colors and highlights surfaces across different types of terrain, the new Technium, Technium L, and Twinspark are purpose-built for all-day comfort and style.
Shimano’s proprietary RIDESCAPE lens technology includes six lens options that are tuned for different riding conditions and terrain types. From extremely sunny days on the road to riding through mixed shadows on a forest trail or chasing the dimming light of an evening gravel ride, RIDESCAPE transmits the right amount of light to boost visibility. Details that would normally be washed out, dull, or flat become more clearly defined, vibrant, and vivid.
New Technium eyewear features a lightweight, protective, full-frame design for all-day comfort on the road, trail, and everything in between. Fog-reducing vents integrated into the top and bottom of the lens help you see clearly even when your ride starts steaming up or when the weather changes unexpectedly.
A reversible nose pad delivers optimal fit customization, while the curved, soft temple grippers better integrate with contemporary cycling helmets to keep your glasses in place no matter how bumpy the ride gets.
Technium eyewear is available with three different RIDESCAPE lens options: RD for road, OR for mountain biking, or GR for gravel riding. Each of these lenses also comes with an interchangeable spare clear lens for low-light riding conditions.
The Technium frames feature construction that includes Arkema Rilsan® clear G850 Rnew® 45% bio-based materials that help reduce carbon emissions during the manufacturing process.
- Frames: Matte Black, Matte White, Teal, Teaberry, Matte Grey, Dark Olive, Bronze Gold
- Frame: Arkema Rilsan clear G850 Rnew 45% bio-based materials
- Weight: 27.4g
- Lenses: RIDESCAPE RD, OR, and GR
- Spare Lens: Clear
- MSRP: $100.00 USD, €99.95 EUR
Delivering an even lighter eyewear option, the Technium L features a featherweight half-frame design. Weighing in at a mere 26 grams, these glasses maintain a wide, one-piece lens design for optimal protection and comfort, ideal for century road rides, big backcountry mountain bike treks, or dawn-to-dusk gravel adventures.
Available with the same three RIDESCAPE options as its full-frame equivalent (RD, OR, or GR) plus the interchangeable clear lens, the Technium L also offers a Photochromic Gray lens option. This additional lens automatically changes the visible light transmission percentage when exposed to different levels of UV light. If the surroundings are dark, the lens is almost clear; when it's bright out, the lens turns a darker hue.
- Frames: Matte Black, Matte White, Crimson, Smokey Navy, Dark Olive, Bronze Gold
- Frame: Arkema Rilsan clear G850 Rnew 45% bio-based materials
- Weight: 26g
- Lenses: RIDESCAPE RD, OR and GR, and Photochromic Gray
- Spare Lens: Clear
- MSRP: $100.00 USD, €99.95 EUR
For riders looking for value-packed eyewear, the Twinspark is a versatile do-it-all option with a lightweight half-rim frame design paired with a daytime-tuned RIDESCAPE HC lens. The daytime lens filters out harsh asphalt glare and sharpens surface details to help riders pedal with confidence.
The one-piece RIDESCAPE HC delivers optimal protection along with richer colors and higher resolution for a clearer view of the road. Just like the Technium and Technium L eyewear offerings, Twinspark is scratch-resistant, water-repellent, and features Shimano’s new clarity-enhancing lightweight BPA-free polyamide lens.
- Frames: Black, White, Deep Red, Smoky Navy
- Weight: 25.3g
- Lenses: RIDESCAPE HC
- MSRP: $65.00 USD, €54.95 EUR

About Shimano
Shimano’s origins began in 1921 when Shimano Iron Works, the predecessor of Shimano Inc., was established by Shozaburo Shimano in Sakai city, Osaka, Japan. The first product was the bicycle freewheel, which, at that time, required the highest level of bicycle technology to produce.
By the 1950s the company was producing products such as external speed changers and internal speed changers (3-speed hub). The success of these products led to Shimano’s first overseas sales office, Shimano American Corporation (currently Shimano North America Holding, Inc.) in 1965, followed by Shimano Europe in 1973. The first overseas manufacturing base, Shimano Singapore Pte. Ltd., also opened in the same year.
In 1991, the company name became Shimano Inc. Its headquarters remain in Sakai, the city of Shimano’s birthplace.
