Its weight of 220g M CE make this the lightest helmet including rotation impact protection on the market.
Z1 KinetiCore is the one for those looking for a featherweight, without skimping on protection. The new model has been engineered to be both lightweight and allow excellent ventilation, while meeting vital safety standards and going beyond by integrating rotational impact protection.
Taking the iconic Z1 as a starting point, worn by infamous athletes such as Andre Greipel on the Champs Elysees, keeping everything that it was doing right and making it better by integrating the Lazer patented KinetiCore protection technology. Results in a 5-STAR Virginia Tech protection rated lid with rotational impact protection built-in weighing in at only 220g M CE.
Strategically placed vents, inclined bridges and a floating headband allow best in class ventilation while keeping aerodynamics in mind. A Lazer Aeroshell is compatible with the helmet and can be added to close the vents for extra aerodynamic advantage and provide protection against the weather elements.
Now including the upgraded Lazer Advanced RollSys, a thumbwheel on the top of the helmet that controls the fit system spanning around the entire circumference of the head for a comfortable and secure fit with no pressure points. As the Lazer Advanced RollSys sits on top of the helmet, enough room for long hair in a ponytail or bun is kept free.
Other features of Z1 KinetiCore include lightweight stitched straps made from antibacterial & recycled material, designed to ensure comfort. The removal of a plastic strap divider and use of recycled strap material are small steps towards the more sustainable future Lazer wants to work towards.
Z1 KinetiCore allows to keep your eyewear safe with its eyewear docking slots. Increased visibility is easily achieved by attaching the Universal Lazer LED to the rear of the helmet.
Z1 KinetiCore's new aggressive design and refined color palette will turn heads while pushing your limits.
Reimagining modern helmet design with over ten years of research and development, Lazer’s KinetiCore technology features built-in rotational-impact protection thanks to unique Controlled Crumple Zones incorporated into the internal structure of the helmet. The result of this integrated design is advanced multi-directional protection that allows riders to ride with confidence. KinetiCore also uses less overall material for improved ventilation, a lighter-weight helmet design, and fewer plastics used in construction.
All helmets sold must be certified to meet minimum safety requirements. However, not all helmets are created equal and two helmets that meet the official standard for certification may offer different levels of impact protection. The Virginia Tech Helmet Lab is 100% independent of any funding or influence from helmet manufacturers and provides unbiased ratings on a 5-star scale that allows consumers to make informed decisions when purchasing. Simply stated, the ratings identify which helmets best reduce concussion risk. More stars equate to better protection, with 5 stars representing the best available helmets.
Founded in 1919, Lazer has led the industry in helmet innovation, design, protection, and technology. A century of heritage, experience and passion means our helmets are some of the most advanced, lightweight, stylish and well-ventilated on the market.
As a company, we’re constantly striving to forge new paths and disrupt the standard way of thinking. All our products are designed in Belgium and are available for every cyclist, based on the principle of universality, yet we’ve never forgotten our roots – we still ride our products over cobbled farm roads, and we’re still reaching to new heights to innovate, improve and create what we would want to use ourselves.

About Shimano
Shimano’s origins began in 1921 when Shimano Iron Works, the predecessor of Shimano Inc., was established by Shozaburo Shimano in Sakai city, Osaka, Japan. The first product was the bicycle freewheel, which, at that time, required the highest level of bicycle technology to produce.
